Living in Montpellier this young choreographer born in Cameroon might well represent the possible link between traditional culture and contemporary expression.
Since she was five she was chosen to be the carrier of her ethnic ancestral culture and knowledge –Mbekoum was formed in dance as well as in many other Fields related to it : costumes, masks, make up, music, cooking…………….
Once arrived in France, Mbekoum showed to be worthy those teaching as she presented traditional dance performances through the stages of several festivals.
Nevertheless, as years passed by, she realized that she was more than an experienced dancer, more than a ´†griot†ª woman and that as a real artist she needed to direct her sensitivity and talent towards more personal projects.
